Quiet location, comfortable bed, good ventilation. So we slept like logs. Breakfast excellent, especially the host from Nepal, for whom our welfare was his watchword. He and the manager from South Africa could not have done more to make sure we were welcome, well fed, and happy. The location meant that we could easily go into the city by public bus but visit relatives by car, which was easy to arrive by, due to the hotel being on our home side of the city, and having a large accessible car park. A decent area with lovely church nearby to have coffee. New bathroom was lovely, clean and well thought out. The curtains were really decent full length and blackout. A big plus. Plenty of good lams and a decent tv and wifi service.

Staff amazing from start to finish went out of their way a gentleman checked us in didn't get his name he could see mum was struggling with mobility so asked if we would like a downstairs room then proceeded to ask if walk in shower or bath would be best absolutely couldn't fault him spoke the following morning and evening and asked about our day best customer service ever received in a holiday inn bus stop across rd but buses were often full but it turned out it was also pride weekend taxis via uber were quick and reliable and very good price about same as 2 bus tickets in end so we travelled in and out via user in the end and left car parked up at hotel if able you could walk in to the centre

Deborah

We requested, and were given a ground floor room. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Especially the young woman who booked us in, and most especially 'Joe' at the desk - and also his manager Thackeray. The breakfasts were the best that I have ever had in a hotel. They included everything, different fruit choices, about 5 different juice choices. Everything was easy to see and perfectly set out. Not one choice missing. The rooms were warm. The hotel is welcoming and comfortable.

Barbara

The hotel was great a little further out than we thought from the city center however £8 in a taxi was very reasonable the breakfast was excellent help yourself with a great selection and choice cereal , cold meats , pastries , bread and of course the traditional full breakfast , highly recommended , breakfast was included in the cost We also ordered food to our room the pizza was lovely as was the coleslaw and service was excellent Just to note this is a dog friendly hotel

Jayne

Excellent position just a 25 minute walk to city walls and 45 to the minster. Lovely walk into city centre past race course. On very convenient bus routes if you prefer not to walk. Super breakfast dining room/ facilities and scrumptious breakfast. Staff friendly and courteous. This is the fourth time we have stayed here. We would recommend it highly.
